Year 11 - Performance Week Results

Over the last four weeks, the Year Eleven students have embarked in the Performance Week exams for all of their subjects; a system we find useful to give the Year 11 students an experience of what their real GCSE exams in each of their subjects will be like in Terms 5 & 6.

Over the last four weeks, the Year Eleven students have embarked in the Performance Week exams for all of their subjects; a system we find useful to give the Year 11 students an experience of what their real GCSE exams in each of their subjects will be like in Terms 5 & 6.

The year eleven students have worked tirelessly to prepare for these examinations, and should be extremely proud of themselves for the great work and effort they have put in, and dedication they have shown to succeed! They have managed to strive for success with the help of their fantastic teachers, who have worked endlessly to help students to prepare, create revision materials and, of course, offer coffee!

As a student, I have attended many Period 6’s and have tested many revision strategies to help me prepare. Students had prep time before their exams, whilst being allowed to leave after exams, which I thought was particularly helpful as we were able to independently manage our own schedules and use responsibility to use time wisely, which we will have to do in our Post 16 education.

Parents and carers are invited to join students to review their results on Tuesday 22nd January 2019. Students will receive their Performance Week examination results after an assembly on Tuesday, Period Five in lieu of their usual CEIAG sessions.

In May and June of 2019, students will sit their GCSE exams with around four in each subject. To help prepare students, and to also give them the opportunity to review their strengths and weaknesses in their work, Performance Week (split halfway between the Christmas break) gave students the chance to sit every exam they will face in the summer term of 2019.

The results students receive will be used to fill gaps of knowledge, and help us prepare for the real exams to turn weaknesses into strengths.

Please feel free to celebrate with your children on the 22nd of January.
