Oasis Academy John Williams is celebrating another year of record examination results. The percentage of students achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and Maths has increased to 40% with 85% achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C.
Principal Rebecca Clark said, "I am absolutely delighted for the year group who have achieved our best ever results. They worked so hard and have been justly rewarded. This is a team effort, and I would like to thank all of our students, their parents and, of course, our staff for their unstinting support and hard work."
The achievement lifts the Academy, which opened in September 2008, above the Government floor target for the first time, and represents and 11% increase on the 2010 results!
The Academy, which moved into its brand new £20 million home in Hengrove last September, has now achieved three consecutive years of improved results, more than doubling student achievements from just 18% in 2008 to 40% today.
