A year 11 Board of Executives has been appointed this term, the aim of the group is to be voice of the students and a link between staff and student bodies.
The Board is made up of eleven students; Mitchell Silverthorne and James Perry lead as Student Executive Officers with Todd Samways as Vice Student Executive Officer. Yemi Harding and Kurtis as ICT Directors will work on the use and access of ICT within the academy for students as well as the wider community. Harry Watkins, Finance Director will link with the business manager to help manage how part of the year 11 rewards budget will be spent. Sam Williams and Alex Taylor will work with a team from OCL on marketing the Academy and its many events as the teams Marketing Directors.
The Board is completed with the three Environment Directors who will work closely with the Principal and Skanska on the exciting new build. Abi Cockwell, Rebecca Bowkett and Hope Rich will be the link between students and what’s happening in the new build with regular visits and updates through assemblies and the website.
Future plans for the Board include visits to care homes to serve afternoon tea, a visit to the Houses of Parliament on 25th November for the Oasis Student Leaders National Conference 2009, the start of a community Newspaper and much more to look forward to in the next edition.
